Reports to: Chief Programme Officer (CPO)

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Education & Research to provide strategic leadership for our Education and Research portfolio, with a strong focus on Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL). Reporting directly to the Chief Programme Officer, this executive leadership role will shape the organisation's evidence generation, learning agenda, and education strategy to maximise programme quality, innovation, and impact.

The successful candidate will lead the development of robust MEL systems, drive research excellence, strengthen evidence-based decision-making, and ensure that programme design and policy engagement are monitored effectively. Exigences

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead the organisation's Education, Research, and MEL strategy in Tanzania
  • Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, learning, and knowledge management systems.
  • Drive evidence-based programme design, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee research, evaluations, impact assessments, and donor reporting.
  • Build strategic partnerships with governments, donors, universities, and sector partners.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team on programme quality and impact.
Qualifications ideal for this strategic position:

  • 8 years of provn strategic leadership experience in Education, research, and MEL within an NGO, donor-funded programme, research institution, or development organisation, ideally in East Africa.
  • Proven expertise in designing and leading MEL frameworks, evaluations, and research programmes.
  • Strong understanding of results-based management, data analysis, and evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Execllent communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and partnership-building skills.
  • Willing to relocate and work in Tanzania is non-negotiable.
